Upfront I have to say that maybe I am not the best person to review this book: I have my own consulting business, and calling "in sick" just isn't done. But obviously enough people need to know how to do it with finesse that Sick Days Handbook was needed.

As the author's note said, Bishop doesn't do this herself--taking personal days to do these things--and it is tongue-in-check, water cooler thinking aimed at those who feel they are a working drudge in today's world.

The chapter titles give you a good idea of what this is about:

The Basics: Get fake sick quick
Who are the people in your neighborhoo
The Mental Health Da
Scripts for calling i
Holidays American Corporations ignor
You hate your boss, etc., etc.

"This is a course in manipulations--this is about lying," the author said. The book contains information you need on those days you want to call in sick because you just can't or don't want to get up.

Armchair Interviews says: If you need how to play hooky like a true adult, check this book out.
