Full title: Cap'n Billy "The Butcher" MacDougall's Guide to Pirate Parenting

"Most parents have been on the wrong side of a mutiny at one time or another," says author Tim Bete.

Haven't we though? It can be exhausting to get our kids to behave in public, or to brush their teeth. But maybe we are approaching this parenting thing in the wrong way. Why fight it? Our children are perfectly equipped to grow up and become successful pirates with only a little encouragement. Besides, when we tell our children's teachers that we are raising pirates, they'll stop asking us to volunteer at school.

Tim Bete's hilarious satirical parenting book is sure to keep you rolling...if not on the high seas, at least off your couch. He has children's behavior pegged. Sure he's irreverent. We all know that no parent should smack their teen upside the head with an oar. But as he says, "This won't help your pirate hear, but it will make you feel a lot better."

So we won't really get the opportunity to practice most of the parenting techniques put forth in Guide to Pirate Parenting but the laughter that will burst forth from your hull will certainly make you feel a lot better. Or, at least if your kids are already rotten, it will help you explain their behavior.
