What did you do on your vacation? I went to the lakeplace for a week. And that wasn't anything as exotic—nor was my vacation a year long adventure—as in Everett Chapman's A Year of Adventure.

In 1968–69 Chapman took a sabbatical from teaching, and with his wife and two of their children, embarked on the trip of a lifetime. They toured over 36,000 miles through Europe, North Africa, and Turkey in their Volkswagen bus.

A Year of Adventure follows the Chapman's journey country by country and is filled with historical and cultural information, not to mention their relationships with the people who inhabited each place they visited.

For those with a wanderer's heart, this is a must read. Then dream and begin making your own plans to fulfill your travel fantasy. Oh, and keep a journal because you'll want to be able to refer to it in the future. Or maybe you'll just write a book that will spur on other travelers to live their dreams
